MEET THEME - WAVES GEAR

Location : Saturday Home Time Trials (no opposing team) at Willowsford (Lodge Pool in The Greens)

Age Group: ALL age groups on the "Big Waves" team

Date and Time : Saturday, June 7th

7:00 AM - Arrive & start warmups.

8:00 AM - Meet starts with first event.

~12:00 PM - Meet finishes.

Swimmer Registration : Must be complete before end of day (11:59PM) on Wednesday, June 4th

Parking: Please park in the pool parking lot. If the pool parking lot gets full please park along the street on Grassland Grove. Do not block the street leading to the Lodge or entrance to the pool.

Volunteers: Check in with Volunteer Director at the table as you enter the pool deck.

Officials: Please report to a briefing at 7:10 AM located at the computer table at the front of the pool. (This includes Head Timer, Timers, Stroke and Turn, etc)

Seating: We do ask that the all spectators and swimmers keep the pool deck clear near the clerk of course area as traffic tends to bottleneck. To maintain clear sight lines and facilitate efficient meet operations, parents not working the meet as a deck official, volunteer lane timer or other meet positions are not permitted along the far side of the pool. Further, competitors may not loiter along the edges of the pool between the timers and the starter equipment. We encourage families to bring their own deck chairs to supplement those available on the pool deck.

Schedule: Warm Up: 30-45 mins prior to meet start time for 20-25 minutes We will make every effort to start the meet on time!

Weather Delay: Our pool management company has a 45 minute wait-out period after a thunder/lightning strike. We are required to clear the pool deck during this time. Together, Team Reps and Head Coaches will address weather delays accordingly.

Rules: A swimmer may enter ALL individual events. This only applies to Time Trials. Future guidance will be provided for each individual meet.

Supervision: Parents and coaches are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers and families and for cleaning up the team area. Please note, as a safety precaution, no swimmer or spectator is allowed in the baby pool or beach entry area of the pool before, during or after the swim meet.

Programs: We recommend you print programs from the website in advance or use the Swimtopia/Meet Maesto app.

Concessions: Concessions will be available. Cash or Venmo is accepted.

DECK ENTRIES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED – WHICH IS THE GENERAL GUIDANCE ACCORDING TO ODSL. 

Location: 43100 Barnstead Dr., Ashburn, VA 20148

Directions: From Evergreen Ridge Dr., turn on to Barnstead Dr. and proceed to turn left on to Sunbury St. You will be able to enter the general parking from Sunbury St. The outlet on Chertsey St. will be for exit only. There is a small swimmer drop off in the southwest corner of the parking lot. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants and marshals posted in the parking lot.

Parking: Parking is very limited, get here early. Once the general parking lot fills, our HOA has requested we park on the streets surrounding the pool (Barnstead Dr, Sunbury St., and Chertsey St.). Refer to map below for details.

Team Area: Team areas will be set up on the grass lawn behind the HOA clubhouse. Teams can set up their areas beginning 6:00 AM the morning of the meet. We ask each of our teams to please maintain their general areas, i.e. place garbage in the provided bins and generally keep their respective areas neat. The HOA requests that no swimmers be allowed to use the playground during the swim meet. We appreciate all team’s help in enforcing this rule. Refer to map below for details.

Times:
6:00 am: Swimmers may start arriving
6:30 am: Suggested South Waves arrival
7:05-7:18: South Waves warm-ups
8:00 am: Meet begins

Restrooms: For the safety of our athletes, the restrooms near the pool entrance will be designated for Athletes Only. Marshals will be posted at the entrance to enforce this policy. Porta-Potties will be placed for public use in the northeast corner of the lawn.

Pool Deck: There is limited standing room only viewing from the pool deck. Spectators should time their arrival on the pool deck to align with their swimmer’s approximate swim time. The pool deck entrance is on the side of the pool near the athlete’s restrooms. The spectator viewing area will be along the length of the pool. Upon completion of your athlete’s swim, please exit the pool deck back towards the team area in a timely manner. NO CHAIRS are permitted on the pool deck, or the sidewalk/path outside the fence. Feel free to set-up in the grass. Refer to map below for details.

Concessions: We will run a full concessions service for breakfast and lunch with snacks, drinks, burritos, bagels, pizza, and fresh grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We accept credit cards including Apple/Google Pay (with minimum $5 purchase) and cash. Viperfish swimmers will be coming around to offer a chance to win in our (cash only) 50/50 raffle.

T-Shirts: Custom 2024 ODSL All Stars T-Shirts and sweatshirts will be sold at the meet. Shirts can be pre-ordered using the link: https://www.fdsportswear.com/events/2024-odsl-all-stars. PRO TIP: Pre-order in advance and avoid the lines.
